Sowing distrust within the organization by using informants and undercover law enforcement is one of the most effective ways to hamstring an insurgency or criminal enterprise, and PNW-based radical leftists are the latest targets of this tactic.
For background,a radical Indiana-based BLM leader was arrested this past week for a molotov cocktail attack last fall:
On Friday, April 2, 2021, 24-year-old Malik Muhammed was arrested in Indianapolis on multiple warrants, including Attempted Aggravated Murder, Attempted Murder in the first degree, Attempted Murder in the second degree, Unlawful Manufacture of a Destructive Device, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public.
Investigators were assisted in serving the arrest and search warrants by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and FBI.
The investigation implicated Muhammed in significant incidents of violence and destruction. Muhammed threw the firebomb that scorched the uniform of a police officer on September 23, 2020 near the intersection of Southwest 2nd Avenue and Southwest Main Street, in Portland. Muhammed was responsible for throwing an incendiary device (photo), which did not ignite, at police officers at the Penumbra Kelly Building, 4735 East Burnside Street, on September 21, 2020. Muhammed was responsible for tens of thousands of dollars of damage to windows in downtown Portland, including at the Oregon Historical Society, on October 11, 2021.
Apparently FBI agents were in the crowd that night:
FBI agents apparently blended in with protesters in an attempt to pinpoint those who were violent.
During a protest on Oct. 11, FBI agents in plainclothes saw Muhammad, dressed all in black but wearing distinctive red-and-gray gloves, use a metal baton to break windows of the Oregon Historical Society, Portland State University and several businesses, Demer's sworn statement says.
Video of the attack:
The fact he’s an Indiana resident and traveled to Portland to protest really isn’t that shocking; many of the more dedicated Antifa/BLM radicals crowdfund for expenses and spend riot season on the road, for example PNW-based leftists have been arrested in places like Wisconsin and Washington DC:
A pic I took of the snack van parked outside the Portland Police Association building last August:
…And the PPA building about 20 minutes after I took the previous photo:
That isn’t the only antifa radical that was rolled up last week:
Alma Yesenia Raven-Guido, 19, of Beaverton, Ore., has been charged by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office with two counts of felony rioting, second-degree felony arson and first-degree felony criminal mischief. A serial riot arrestee, she was arrested again Tuesday night at a Black Lives Matter-Antifa riot in north Portland where the police union hall was set on fire.
“Some members of the group communicated by radio, used shields, threw projectiles at police and wore black clothing to obscure their identities,” said the district attorney’s office in a press release announcing the charges. “Some affiliated with the group launched multiple large fireworks towards aircrafts that were flying overhead.”
According to the criminal complaint, Raven-Guido was identified as one of the arsonists by an informant. The Portland Police Association building was severely damaged in the fire. It has been the target of dozens of attacks, including arson, since last year.
I had to replace the link to this tweet by an antifa-aligned “journalist” posted the night of the attack with a screenshot because it was deleted post-arrest, but you can see the damage from this last incident is far more extensive than normal:
This is far from the first time undercover LE has caused havoc with leftists, I was present for the particular snatch-and-grab arrest below back in 2017.
Go to 7:20 and pay close attention to the black male that enters from screen left as he grabs a white male leftist, then drags him into the riot line before rolling out of the back and escaping. I was standing 20 feet away and still almost missed it in the chaos, I had to find online footage to confirm my interpretation:
As for Raven-Guido, It’s quite possible the informant behind her arrest is someone within a core affinity group and thus privy to planning meetings, which means Portland antifa will likely find it difficult to organize aggressive actions and recruit new people for the near future.
